Il sentiero si sviluppa su stradella forestale e ne sfiora la base dal lato est con una bretella di circa 3400 metri di lunghezza, pressoch\u00e9 pianeggianti. Esso si raggiunge dopo qualche centinaio di metri dal superamento della sbarra che segna l\u2019inizio del Demanio Forestale e si trovano a ridosso di un\u2019area pianeggiante, leggermente ascendente, priva di vegetazione boschiva e circondata da alcuni crateri laterali, tra i quali domina sulla sinistra la mole di Monte Minardo (1305 m s.l.m.). Il sentiero si svolge su stradella a fondo naturale che, dopo avere superato Monte Peloso (1272 m s.l.m.), piega decisamente verso est guadagnando quota (in tutto ben 865 m) attraversando ampi tratti di pineta facente parte del cosiddetto Bosco di Centorbi, alternati a distese di lave. Lungo i 13 km di percorso, si incontra un caseggiato di servizio dell\u2019Aziende Foreste, che conserva il nome originale di Rifugio Case Zampini posto a quota 1345 m s.l.m., superato il quale ci si insinua, in ordine di attraversamento, tra i Monti Nespole (~1700 m s.l.m.), Leporello (1749 m s.l.m.), Capre (1880 m s.l.m.) e Fornello (1999 m s.l.m.), per raggiungere la Pista Altomontana (701) nei pressi del Rifugio Poggio la Caccia, rifugio sempre aperto dotato di camino e legna. They can be reached after passing the bar that marks the limit of the State Property close to slightly ascending flat areas characterised by the absence of forests and the presence of some lateral craters, among which M. Minardo dominates on the left.\n\nThe trail unfolds on a non-paved road, which, after passing M. Peloso, bends sharply towards East, thus gaining altitude (865 m overall) and crossing large portions of pine forest and undated lava fields.\n\nAlong the 10.7 km route is located a State Forestry Corps building retaining its original name of Case Zampini (1,345 m). The trail subsequently goes deeper between M. Nespole, Leporello, Capre and Fornello, to reach the Pista Altomontana near the Poggio la Caccia Refuge, a bivouac with a door, always open to provide hikers with basic shelter. The trail unfolds on a forest road, touches the base from the east side with an almost flat connection of 2,700 m between Trails nos. 708 and 710.
